I thought some others might find this information useful. We started having issues with our iPads taking a long time to reconnect to the wireless network after updating to iOS 8. Apple published this document to explain some wireless changes related to iOS 8. Bottom line, if your wireless networking hardware supports 802.11k and 802.11r you should enable them both.
