iOS Self Service not showing profiles when limiting to groups

I am trying to limit a profile to only show up in self service on an iOS device if the user is a member of a specific group. If I assign the profile with the group restriction, it works fine. When I try to make it available in self service, however, the profile does not show up. I am using a branded self service icon using the instructions here https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/article.html?id=195 if that makes any difference.
