In our inventory scan of our Macs, we have both an IP address and a Reported IP address returned. I'm struggling to work out why there are two and what each address relates to. I can't find any explanation in the Admin Guide so can anyone shed any light?

Do you have a DMZ server? we started seeing that after some off-site workstations, who access our network via VPN, started reporting in through our newly setup VPN. Our network sees their traffic coming through the IP Address (VPN addy) where as internally, on the network that is actually reaching the VPN, it's reporting the "reported IP." In our environment, that makes complete sense to me, but I'm sure your environment is different.

Thanks for this. Looking into it, the machines that have different entries under the two fields are those who have VPN'd in. As you have mentioned the "IP Address" is the one bound to the VPN whereas the "Reported IP Address" is the local address on whatever physical connection they have made.

Would have been good if JAMF told us this in their documentation though.
