Ipad Lost Mode drops Wifi

I know this issue has been around for a while but we STILL see about 20% of our ipad that get put in Lost Mode lose their WiFi. Right now we are using Ethernet Dongles, which work most of the time, but sometimes we have to wipe them. Frustrating...
Any updates on this? Any better workarounds?
