We have an iPad stuck on a focused app (notability.) This iPad has since lost WiFi connection and now we can't remove the focus. How do we fix this please? I believe this happened before the break.

Thanks

There's a trick to give the iPad an ethernet connection and will help if an iPad has fallen off Wi-Fi so you can remotely unlock it or in your case remove it from Focus, it requires some accessories but they are good to have in your toolkit.

You'll need
Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter (Or 30-pin camera adapter if it's an old iPad)
Apple USB Ethernet Adapter
Powered USB 2.0 Hub (any hub but must be powered)
Ethernet Cable

Plug the USB Ethernet Adapter into the USB hub, then plug the hub's cable that would normally goto your computer into the USB Camera Adapter and plug the USB Camera Adapter into your iPad. Plug a network cable into the ethernet adapter, then plug in the power on USB hub. Plug a network cable into the ethernet adapter (the other end plugged into your network of course) and the iPad should pick up that it has a network connection.

We are furiously rummaging through our various and sundry cables, adapters, and hubs as I type this. We've been resigned to running them through Configurator in those situations.

FYI another troubleshooting tool we use is a lightning keyboard. It's useful when touch is not working.
