Is it possible or has anyone ever tried to build a bootable DVD to run Casper Imaging from?

I would like any suggestions on how to build a bootable Imaging dvd. Rather than have our computer tech try to netboot across subnets all the time to image client computers, I was wondering if a bootable dvd with casper imaging (preset with the ip of the jss) could be built properly, or are there too many files that would need to be temporarily written that booting from a non-read/writeable boot dvd wouldn't function correctly?

You might want to consider instead using a thumb drive. 8GB-16GB flash drives are relatively cheap.

Never tried a DVD, but what is your environment look like as far as
processor arch. Goes? If it is mostly intel why not just make a
bootable pen drive? Or Firewire drive if you still have a lot of PPC's.
Or if you're not typically tight on HD space begin using a "restore
partition". Especially since on the newer intels the feature for
non-destructive disk partitioning is present in disk utility you could
do this whenever you'd like and wouldn't particularly have to wait until
your next imaging cycle.

Just a few thoughts, it all depends on your environment.
