How can we property set up Jamf Remote Assist to connect to our computers and Mac Minis. We confirmed it is enabled in Jamf and the settings are correct as far as we can tell, but we are not able to connect using the remote session command. Anything we need to configure on the computer settings?

It’s likely networking related. However, when I played around with it, I found that other solutions were easier like zoom screensharing/remote control.

Jamf Remote Assist is in a rough shape at the moment. It’s barely a functioning feature at the best of times. Which is a shame.

I’d recommend against using it until it’s massively improved

Hi JtheMac,

A few things to check on the Mac side:

First, make sure Screen Sharing or Remote Management is enabled in System Settings > General > Sharing. Jamf Remote Assist relies on these services being active on the target Mac.

Also, I'd recommend running Jamf Check on the affected machines - it's a free diagnostic tool from Jamf that can help identify configuration issues with your Jamf Pro environment, including Remote Assist readiness.

If Jamf Check doesn't reveal the issue, you might also want to try a third-party remote tool temporarily (like TeamViewer or AnyDesk) to confirm whether it's a Jamf-specific issue or a broader network/firewall problem on those Macs.

What error message (if any) do you see when attempting the remote session?
