So not sure this is the best way to deal with this, but I thought it'd be better than starting a mini event!
Last night off the plane I had to do a hard shut down of my MacBook pro and now it won't boot up, I'm recently up to Yosemite and I log in, but then get a progress bar that stops halfway thru. Anyone feel like meeting up here at JNUC to help me fix it? Text me: 919-818-7786

Thanks!

Hey @jpizzino,

Let's try resetting the SMC:

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964

or zapping the PRAM:

http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14222

Thanks!

I had a similar situation after updating to 10.10. I could safe boot fine but I couldn't sus out anything that was causing it to hang halfway through normal boot. I ended up doing a reinstall of 10.10 and it's working fine now.

Same thing happened to me. I reset PRAM and safe booted and ran a verify/check disk. Rebooted and it went back to normal.
