If I upgrade our JSS server from 8.52 to 8.6 will I still be able to user the older Casper Suite applications (i.e. Composer, Admin) or will I have to upgrade the applications as well?

+24You'll need the new versions. Though, Composer you can keep as it doesn't directly talk to the JSS. However, Composer 8.6 squashed that re-naming bug so you'll probably want it.
