Hello All,



Need a guidance i am running Mac OS X 10.8.1 (Mac mini Mid 2011)



I am running below terminal command to check if my system is running on 64 - bit or 32 -bit Kernel. Command shows up that its on 64 -bit.
below is the terminal command result……which shows machine is on the 64 bit.
App-04:~ App$ uname -a
Darwin App-04.local 12.1.0 Darwin Kernel Version 12.1.0: Tue Aug 14 13:29:55 PDT 2012; root:xnu-2050.9.2~1/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64



When i see it through About This Mac -> More Info -> System Report -> Software
it shows the information System Software Overview on Right side as follows...



System Software Overview:



System Version: OS X 10.8.1 (12B19)
Kernel Version: Darwin 12.1.0
Boot Volume: MacHD
Boot Mode: Normal
Computer Name: App-04
User Name: App
Secure Virtual Memory: Enabled
Time since boot: 9:28



In the previous version of Mac OS X 10.7 in the same location it was showing up
64 - bit Kernel and Extensions: Yes or No as per boot config (32 - bit or 64 - bit)



But now in the Current running version of Mac OS X 10.8.1 its not showing up this respective field.



64 - bit Kernel and Extensions:



Just wanted to know if this field is discontinue in Mac OS X 10.8 or i am missing something.



I dont have any other Mac Machine to test this hence i need your help if some one running OS X 10.8 and able to see...

I'm guessing Apple had taken this out because it has to be 64-bit kernel and extensions only for 10.8+

Yes



Apple removed it because it is full 64bit kernel and extensions and 32bit is gone
