Many of our users are experiencing a 45 second delay when attempting
to logon to our network wirelessly. We are using home folders, which
then adds another 10 seconds to the total amount of time elapsed
between entering logon information and actually being logged in. We
were wondering if any of this time is being used by Casper in the
authentication process, and if so, can it be trimmed or eliminated. As
an experiment, we tried logging in wirelessly to an iMac that was not
imaged by Casper, and the amount of time until home folder syncing
began seemed to be cut in half. Obviously, this was not a conclusive
test, but it led us to question whether using Casper for imaging was
part of our logon delay issue. Any thoughts on the matter would be
appreciated. Thanks.
