We have been trying to implement a new proxy product and have had horrible support and issues. We require web proxy for Windows and Mac in an enterprise environment with authentication.

+29Consulted in environments that had WebSense, Smoothwall, and Sophos, among others. Do you only need proxy/filtering on premise or off (i.e. portables)?
+12On and off prem would be great. We have been working with TrustWave lately to implement Secure Web Gateway, and their product is not stellar for authentication-based web proxy.
+12So with WebSense, Smoothwall, Sophos, BlueCoat, and Palo Alto does authenticated web proxy work smoothly from what you have seen? We need to track at the user level who is doing what.
+7I am interested if anyone has any feedback on the Bluecoat proxy.
Palo Alto's Next Gen FWs worked great a previous employer. controlled/monitored at the Firewall level though.
