It is supported, but maybe not where you expect to find it. You enable it in the Automated Device Enrollment profile for iOS, a bulk action called Enable Activation Lock for Macs. I recommend looking into the link below for full details.

Activation Lock for Macs is supported in Jamf School, but enabling it through deployment profiles may not be as straightforward as with iPads. You can enable Activation Lock via Automated Device Enrollment profiles or through the bulk action option in Jamf School. However, if users enable Activation Lock with personal iCloud accounts, Jamf School should provide a bypass code, but if it's missing, ensure the device meets requirements like Apple School Manager enrollment and macOS 10.15 or later. For more advanced features, Jamf Pro might be a better fit.

All our ipads are added to Apple School manager and are enrolled in Jamf School.
Activation lock is enabled on all ipads: some with a personal icloud account from a user, some with settings in the deployment profile.
Now we want to add our M1, M2... macs and macbooks.
But, i dont see an option to let macbooks enable the activation lock when setting up with a deployment profile.
Also if a user enables activation lock with a personal icloud account, i don't see a bypass code in the details of my device in jamf school.
Are macs not officially supported in 'Jamf School'? Are this Jamf pro features?
Thanks for the information

Hello,
if i create an automated device enrollment profile for mac, i can't see anything that has to do with activation lock.
Only when i create a DEP for ios, i can see it. But you can't assign an iOS DEP profile to a Mac device.
The bulk action to enable activation lock fails with error "The device does not have a valid Automated Device Enrollment profile"

Sorry, there is a quick action you can send out as a bulk action to macOS devices, Enable activation lock. This should enable it for the devices. You also have an option for devices added to ASM before activation, to turn off activation lock from there. So you should be fully covered for ADE devices.

Hello, i know this quick action but it doesn't work.
As you can see in the screenshot.

Is this a DEP/ADE enrolled device? Is it supervised? We might not, as @rosie45darwin mentions, meet the requirements if the device is not ADE enrolled, or somehow not a supervised device.

Hello, it is supervised and Auto enrolled using auto enrollment profile.
In mean time, i received answer on my support request from Jamf School team. The 'activation lock' feature is not working well and is not officially supported on Jamf School at this moment.
So were are asking our users to not enable 'find my mac' on our managed macs. At this moment, jamf school is also lacking support to make it impossible for users to activate the activation lock. I reported this and maybe they will support it in the future.

Thanks for the update! Sounds like an ideas.jamf.com thing if it's not supported soon.
