Has anyone experienced issues with imaging a 10.11.4 dmg to a newer MacBook Air in which it will freeze about 50-75% on the kernal screen after imaging?
It doesn't seem to happen on models other than the MacBook Air. I can successfully deploy this image on MacBook Pros and iMacs.
If I use a 10.11.3 dmg, it seems to work fine. My workaround is adding the 10.11.4 combo update in the configuration but I'd like to save a bit more time by having the update baked in.

Is it possible the 10.11.4 base image you used is model specific to a different hardware model? If the combo fixes it, it sounds like a bad base to me.

The funny thing is that the 10.11.4 base image was built on this MBA model and it works fine on the other models mentioned save for the one it originated from.

In verbose mode, it seems to be hanging on "promiscuous mode" on en1 which is the thunderbolt Ethernet adapter.
