macOS Sierra - Re-download

Hi All,

Not sure if someone had already commented or previously posted this, so apologise in advance.

So as some of you will know, Apple stopped tying Apple IDs to macOS Sierra or High Sierra downloads, in the Mac App Store purchased tab. And wouldn't you know it, I need to download a copy of Sierra to fix a recovery partition. (Can't upgrade to High Sierra in our environment yet as we're still upgrading our support tools and business apps to be compatible).

Anyway, long story short. I came across a discussion and a link in macrumors.com, which takes you direct to the App Store page: [https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/macos-sierra/id1127487414?mt=12](link URL)

(recommend you save/bookmark if you need it too).

      Apple actually re-added it to the app store when the Security updates were released.

      I blogged about the CLI way here: https://www.rderewianko.com/download-sierra-through-cli/ which while does work the direct url works again ;)

        Yeah, I had a go using the MAS CLi but it didn't work for me.

        I'm one of those rare users, where the Sierra download, never appeared in my Purchased list, in MAS. As a result, the CLi was unable to pull anything down for me. Using the direct link to re-direct to the MAS page helped me out of a jam.

        Thanks for the blog post, have bookmarked it for future reference :)

        The CLI version posted above worked for me a month or two ago, but just this morning I saw that RTrouton posted another way recently: https://derflounder.wordpress.com/2017/11/10/downloading-macos-sierra-from-the-mac-app-store/ Not sure if this method requires Sierra in the purchase history though.
