Hi,

Our current Macs are AD bound. I would like to hear if some of you have measured, how long the startup time is? from turning on the Mac to logged in as the user?

I've never timed it, but it's certainly longer than if it were just a local user. Aside from a user being on-network and connected to ethernet, you can make the startup/login time a little faster if you're deploying a configuration profile that sets the cached mobile user account settings. Example: disable background syncing at login or logout, or excluding items from being synced with the user's home folder on the AD server.

Update: I rebooted my machine and had my colleagues test their's for funzies.

It took anywhere from 55 - 70 seconds from entering the FileVault password to reach the desktop.
