Hi Guys,

We have an issue when connecting to our windows file servers where MacOS is ignoring kerberos and prompting for a username and password.

We have migrated to NoMAD and are no longer binding our macs to AD.
The macs are successfully getting a kerberos ticket via NoMAD.

If the mac is bound to AD it uses kerberos when connecting to the file server and does not ask for a password. When i unbind it it starts prompting.

Does any one know how to get the mac to use kerberos when connecting to SMB shares when not bound?

Thanks in advance,

ASh

Hi Ash,

Are you running 10.14.2 by any chance?

As far as I'm aware 10.14.3 patches this issue. Best upgrade a machine and see what results you get back.

For reference: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT209149
When making a file-sharing connection that uses a valid Kerberos TGT to authenticate, users are no longer prompted to enter credentials.

We're in the same boat. I've confirmed that 10.14.3 does not solve the problem.

Yep it seems 10.14.3 does not solve the issue.
