In our Jamf Protect tenant, we have a multitiude of devices that have been retired and no longer in use.  They still show in Jamf Protect unless we manually delete them and skew our results.

Is the correct process to keep our Jamf Protect Computers inventory tidy to manually delete them from Jamf Protect?  Does Jamf Protect have any auto-expire policies?  For example, if disconnected for 6 months then purge device from Jamf Protect.

What is your offboarding/EOL process for the devices from a Jamf Pro perspective? Are you manually going into Jamf Pro and deleting the computer record or are you doing it via the API, say for example when your asset management system flags the device as retired, does it send an API commands to Pro to delete the computer record? If so, you can do the same with Jamf Protect, there is a delete computer type in the API schema that could do that.

Hope that helps.

Currently, we just manually delete the computer once its time to reissue to another user or retire the device.  Is there no way to sync this across both Jamf Pro and Jamf Protect?
