"Minimum network connection" setting in Polices

We are getting ready to deploy CS6 to some remote computers, and there is a local distribution point.

We are setting Minimum network connection to Ethernet since we don't want to push over Wi-Fi.

I combed through the Casper Admin guide and sifted through the forum and articles for clarification.

Is the Minimum Network Connection setting all we need to do to ensure a MacBook Pro that is only connected by Wi-Fi does not get the push, and also to ensure that a+ MacBook Pro that is connected by both Wi-Fi and Ethernet will get the push only over Ethernet+?

Of course the concern is failures or issues due to Casper pushing over Wi-Fi, so hoping to get clarification.

    Can you do a network segment? Is your wi-fi on one network segment and the Ethernet over a different one?

    Hi @kuwaharg, we've got 25,000+ subnets, and there doesn't seem to be any consistency in which to base any sort of segregation. In any case we're really looking for clarification on the Minimum network connection setting, so we know how it is designed to work and whether it's reliable (ie: MacBook Airs, etc.). We want to leverage the logic that is built into JSS (and to avoid duct tape <g>). I'll ping our JAMF buddy and will post his response. :)

    Any update on this? We've had a few incidents of students not able to get the CS6 policy when wired, but have no problem pulling CS6 over wifi, despite the minimum network connection set to "Ethernet" on the policy. There is the ability to cross-talk between our wifi and wired networks, although they are technically on different subnets. I force it to network segment on the wired network, but then what's the point of this dropdown option?
