Mobile Device Extension Attributes in App Configuration templates without LDAP

We need to push down app configurations and would like to use Extension Attributes entered via the Casper web UI in the app configuration template. As far as I can tell, the extension attributes are only available in the app config template when they originate from LDAP, but not when they are entered manually in Casper.

Is there a way to use Extension Attributes in App Configuration without LDAP?
