Hi All,

I am moving Jamf Pro to a different server on a new Windows VM. I backed up the database. Do I re-issue the SSL on the new instance or do I have to carry that over also? My goal is to not re-enroll any devices.

Thanks

https://www.jamf.com/jamf-nation/articles/122/migrating-to-another-server

That link will give you a 40,000 foot overview. Generating a new cert in step 7 works or you could simply copy the keystore from the old server so long as you tweak your server.xml properly. Either method chosen will not cause a re-enrollment.

On a practical level, make your migration a lateral move (don’t try to upgrade the JSS during migration...stick to same versions.)

Also I would advise checking in with your Jamf rep. They can provide a more fleshed out plan for your migration.
