When installing a couple of .mpkg packages using Casper Imaging, they do not install and the local logs show the following:

Thu Oct 28 15:19:04 NetBoot001 jamf[1849]: Installing Office Installer.mpkg...
Thu Oct 28 15:19:07 NetBoot001 jamf[1849]: Installation failed. The installer reported: installer: Cannot install on volume /Volumes/Macintosh HD because it is disabled.
installer:

The same package installs correctly when using Casper Remote.

I dragged the Office Installer.mpkg from the source Office 2011 DMG into Casper Admin.
I've corrected the permissions using JAMF Setup and even Server Admin, but it hasn't helped.

The mpkg for Communicator and Remote Desktop Connect 2.1.0 have the same issue.

Any ideas?

I haven't had that problem with Remote Desktop, but are you on version 7.3 where you can tell packages to install after the reboot? Some of the Mpkg installers need to install while booted to Macintosh HD, which is why Remote works. If your not on a version if the JSS that doesn't allow you to set the install at reboot for packages you can have policies that a triggered to do it at startup by having a policy that's called by a manual trigger name in an at reboot script or by a policy that runs on any system where X software has not been installed by Casper/Remote.

jamf policy -trigger manualTriggerName

Hope that helps.
