I am going to be setting up integration with jamf and webhelpdesk and have a quick question regarding security. "Allow Network Connections" is enabled for MySQL and it is listening. Not knowing much about MySQL, I'm assuming that I need to set a password for the root user as the logs state?
It appears that most of the mysql connections are using running under "_mysql" for the user so I am assuming that setting the root password will not affect things. Anything else I should/should not do?
Server is on the same network as our other production boxes. Nothing is allowed in to the server from outside of the network.
I just want to be sure before I do anything rash!
Thanks!
Aaron
