Is it possible to get the NetBoot/SUS appliance in a VMWare VMX format instead of OVA? Or does anyone perhaps know of a tool that can convert it?

Thanks!

If you import the appliance into VirtualBox, you'll see the disk format is a vmdk file. I simply gave this to our VMWare folks and they imported it easily into their vSphere infrastructure.

There is a command line tool from VMware to convert OVA to VMX.

VMware OVF Tool: http://www.vmware.com/resources/techresources/1013

Here you will find a good tutorial: http://derflounder.wordpress.com/2012/02/06/converting-jamfs-netbootsus-appliance-to-vmware/
