Hi,

I am trying out the appliance for SUS as I was looking for a zero cost and zero maintenance option. What are others doing with regards to patching this Ubuntu instance? In our environment it isn't really an option to have an unmanaged Ubuntu OS running in the data center.

I do have the option of deploying a RHEL server instead but I am trying to avoid the licensing cost.

Thanks

I like CentOS because it is essentially a downstream version of RHEL without the proprietary stuff. I found it more compatible with the hardware I'm using (an IBM server that is a couple of years old). Mind you I'm not using it for Netboot or software update: My CentOS server is running our JSS database. The whole command line only thing wasn't too bad once I figured out how to use yum. ;)

Cheers...
