Hi

i've installed NetSUS V4.1 on an Ubuntu VM in Azure and testing the catalog url in the browser

http://serveripaddress/content/catalogs/others/index-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1_Production.sucatalog

and i get

The requested URL /index-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1_Production.sucatalog was not found on this server.

i can get to the catalogs directory in a browser but it shows nothing,

if i ssh onto the server i can see all the sucatalog files in /data/netsus/content/catalogs/others/

There are a couple of steps that i may have done incorrectly when setting it up ?
- I manually configured the server using repoutil --configure and set an attached disk as the install location (as the boot disk doesn't have enough space)
- I added 2 branches and set one as root, when i tried the Sync Manually button nothing appeared to happen (looking at the volume) so i ran the repo_sync command to sync, i can see all of the downloads and catalogs now so it looks like it worked but the web interface shows last sync as never

Any pointers gratefully received !

@May Did you turn on the checkbox "Ensure that computers install software updates from the NetBoot/SUS/LDAP Proxy server instead of downloading and installing them from Apple's software update server" on the Software Update Server settings page? That's a common culprit with the NetSUS not serving updates.

@sdagley Thanks, yes that's on.
I'm not sure if it's because i ran the sync using the repo_sync command as using the Netsus GUI Sync button seems to do nothing and shows Last Sync as never, the odd thing is that i can reach the Catalogs directory in a browser but not the catalog urls.

It looks like it is syncing ok as the modified time is at 3PM when i have the sync set,
i just can't figure why the urls are inaccessible in a browser
