I'd like to monitor network and bandwidth usage on a per application basis, I basically want to see who is using applications that are causing a lot of network load (ie: bittorrent). I don't necessarily want to restrict applications at the moment, I just want to see who is using what program and how much bandwidth they are soaking up.
Our machines don't live on a common network and are distributed all over the world, so we can't track/restrict any of this stuff via a firewall, nor do we have them dialed into any sort of VPN.
Does anyone have any experience with anything like this?
