Is there another way of bonding the NICs instead of aggregating them on OS X Server 10.6.4 9 running on intel XServe? Another way of saying; Is there a way of setting IP failover between two NICs that one stays off and takes over if the master one fails?
I am thinking of putting a Casper Server facing internet and I don't think I can put 2x1gb =2gb bandwith will be aloud to do so (I may upset network design people by using too much resources). I am looking for an alternative way of teaming 2 ports with same IP but I don't want to increase the bandwith. Also our data center infrastructure won't support 2 separate switch port bounding. This will also jeopardise resiliance for my servers.
