+4In our windows environment we have a whole bunch of GPOs that need to apply to our Office 2016 suite.
We would liek to see how much (or all) we can apply to the Mac side of things.
I have not been able to find any information on how we can do this, where the settings are.
Is anything documented, like it is (to an extent) for Windows?
+24Almost all Mac applications, including Office 2016, use preference files, or property lists (plists for short) to control certain behavior and settings within the app(s). Most times these settings can be applied through Configuration Profiles on a computer or user level to either enforce the settings, or apply them once as a default setup.
I don't think Apple's Configuration Profile defaults have anything in them to affect MS Office applications, but you can always do this with custom configuration profiles if they aren't built in.
I don't know if I can direct you to anything specific since you didn't mention any of the settings you're wishing to control, but if you can give us an example or two of something you might like to apply in a config profile, someone can likely provide an example of how to do it.
Also note that not everything you can do with Office on Windows is going to correlate to something on the Mac side. Despite looking almost the same, they really are two different suites, so its not going to be a 1-to-1 comparison.

The main reason I did not give any specifics is because we have a lot... and to try and see where on the Mac platform we can add things will take awhile.
A few things we do on Windows is:
1. Add Qos settings for our Lync application (windows we use s4b 2015, on MAc currently Lync 2011 (version14.1)
2. Block OneDrive within Office 2016
3. Block Automatically download attachments
Among other things. We leverage the CIS Benchmark document for Office 2016

There are a lot of things to go over, and not knowing what you can and cannot change in Office on Mac can be a daunting task.
