Okay, I'm not a political ranter or anything...I'm a firm believer in letting each man/woman make up his/her mind politically, but someone should go offer to integrate Casper or something to the folks of San Bernadino County. Won't help so much with the corporate-owned phone in question per se, BUT this is clearly a chance to get good MDM software in some administrator's hands. I have zero sympathy for terrorists and every sympathy for the victims in this particular case.
since this story broke, I found myself wondering why this work-owned device wasn't managed and why someone couldn't just click "Clear Passcode"...even if it takes the "fake ethernet port" trick. Our MDM is far from perfect so I won't claim that it is by any means, but I think this is worth a discussion.

P.S. to the folks running this board...I have no problems if you delete this as it is clearly off-topic, but it helped me unwind this morning after reading 2-3 news articles on the subject. I am very grateful I'm not the sysadmin who is having to think about stuff like this. I hate to see iPhone security hacked in any way on one hand, but wish to express sympathy for the victims on the other.
