Parallels Desktop for Mac v10 Deployment?

I was under the impression that Parallels had a deployer pkg built-in, kind of like VMware. Does this guide help you at all? http://kb.parallels.com/en/120093

I have just completed setting up our package. For the enterprise version that we use parallels has a deployment package. You add the license # in a script. The latest install DMG and you are all set. You can also add a windows vm using their tools but all we do is install the package. It works fine. But this is all Enterprise. I am familiar with the auto deploy package that is available for pervious versions of the application. However, it relies on the fact that the installer for previous version is a standard package installer (MPKG) and not an applications (APP). Package installers can run silently from the command line. This latest app version cannot.

Mike, I looked on the Business Support site and did not find a reference to the deployment of version 10. Do you have a direct link to an article? Thanks everyone.

Does anyone know if the Deployment Package's licensing component still fails on clients behind a web proxy? With 9 this was a major issue... at least up through the version I was using. Thanks!

A new Deployment pkg for PD 10 is currently going thru QA. If you are currently experiencing deployment issues please contact your Parallels Account representative so that we can investigate. Please mention I sent you

Wanting to deploy this week. Are we better off to use PD 9 at this point?

If you have a proven process with PDE 9 I would go with that and upgrade later when the full feature set is available

@Peterson I notice that the Autodeploy.pkg now has a creation date of 9/2. I assume this is the QA'ed fix to the issues outlined above?

@Peterson Any idea when the version 10 Deployment package and Mass Deployment Guide will be available? I have a large deployment project next week where part of it includes Parallels 10 deployment and, being the consultant, I do not have a Parallels account representative to contact...

Okay, trying to use the script posted here by @donmontalvo (along with a launchd) to make the VMs available to new users, or even running the command manually, get an error "Unable to get full path for no". A quick glance at the prlctl didn't lead to anything. Either the posted script is malformed or this doesn't work with Parallels 10 any longer. @Peterson, any thoughts?

Just an FYI to some of the comments on this thread...the links posted by @Peterson on 9/25 is the most current information regarding the deployment of Parallels Desktop Enterprise. We did make a few modifications to the pkg deployment tool when we released Parallels Desktop v10 so please download the latest version is you are deploying PD 10. The Mass Deployment Guide which used to be a separate download from the Parallels site has been incorporated into the new Parallels Desktop Admin guide beginning on page 30. In addition to posts on this forum, feel free to PM me if you wish..

Hi again - I'm wondering if anyone (like me) has clients behind a web proxy and can't get Parallels 10 to activate when deploying using the Autodeploy PKG (I had the same issue with v9). Interestingly, other attributes in the deploy.cfg file DO work, such as telling it to check for update - never. Activation works fine manually, but it would be great if this could happen silently. Anyone have experience with this or any workarounds?
