I need some clarification.

In Jamf Pro you can setup user-initiated enrollment and then you have to pick a Jamf management account. In this setting, you can have Jamf use a random password for this account.
So the first question I have is how can you create this account in pre-stage, as you have to pick a password for pre-stage account creation.

The other question is when using Jamf Connect is says to use the skip account creation. There is no option to just skip it as it requires you to create a local admin first.

I had a similar question and reached out to Jamf support. They confirmed that the management account configured under Global Settings > User-initiated Enrollment is also used for PreStage enrollments. This used to be stated in the UI when creating a PreStage but this is no longer case.

The second account creation option allows you to skip the creation of a local user account, it has nothing to do with the management account.

@jtrant When I don't enable this create account in pre-stage it forces me to create an account. So I have to enable the create a local admin account option for it to work.

Ah, I understand. In my case, the account I create in PreStage matches my administrator account (and this explains why).

I'm curious about this as I'd like to create standard accounts during DEP, but am a bit confused with having to create an admin account and then having a managed JSS account...would it be easier or possible to have a single account?

my apologies if this takes away from your thread.
