Hello, we are in the process of implementing Relay for iOS but have discovered it is possible to delete the app and disable the filter which is unacceptable on student devices. Jamf apparently does not have the ability to prevent deletion of a single app. Anyone else run across this? If so how are you dealing with this and or preventing this? Thanks.

Hi @JJT ,

Unfortunately to prohibit the deletion of the Relay Smart Agent you must turn off app deletion for all apps. You can "hide" the app by using the "Do not allow some apps" feature, but do not be tempted to use it. It worked for us until the release of iOS 13 and then it didn't, it bricked a couple hundred of our iPads, no access to the internet at all. We had to DFU all of them. So you have to bite the bullet and just disallow deletion of all apps.

@JJT Echoing what was already said. The only path forward right now with student iPads is to prevent app removal entirely. Good news is Apple has introduced a new feature in iOS/iPadOS 14 to allow MDM to mark an app as unremovable.

Upvote my feature request to ask Jamf to have this new feature implemented ASAP so we can begin testing.
