From what I've read you can't do it and have the Finder app see the files and folders in the linked location.
Is that still the case? I tried this and was unable to get Finder to see my re-directed desktop folder.

+13I'm looking to completely MOVE the desktop folder to a different volume. That looks like it just updates sidebar links. That's not going to work. Thanks, though.
