I have a student who deleted the Books.app on their iPad.
How do you re-install the Books.app without erasing the iPad?

Add the app to your app catalog and get licenses for it. It's free, so you should have a pretty painless time.

The Books.app is not in the App Store, so I cannot get licenses for it to put into my app catalog. So I continue to have a painful time.

It does NOT appear in the VPP store. I can find it using the App Store on my iPad, but NOT within school.apple.com looking for Apps and Books. It just isn't there. So I cannot acquire the licenses. Pain continues…

I was able to reinstall it via the app store without an Apple ID. I just assumed it would be a VPP option (didn't check).

Found out in Jamf Pro you can in Mobile Device Applications to select New, the Add, search for Apple Books, and add it. There won't be any Managed Distribution licenses associated, but apparently there isn't a need to have them. It can then be pushed out to the iPad (automatically installed) for those who have removed the app.
