I launch Recon and connect to JSS using "recon" account (which has API rights to create invitations).

I get the error "Failed to get an invitation to join the JSS":

I get this error even if I use our JSS Admin account (which has all rights and all API) when launching Recon as well as the "Authenticate to JSS as" field.

JSS is at 8.62, and the computer I'm creating the QuickAdd is on 10.8.2 and has developer installer certificate installed (yes, same error whether I sign the QuickAdd or not).

Bug? Feature? Fix?

Don

@nessts JAMF reached out to me, but the last few weeks at my last company were hectic so this got set to the side. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone ran across this and found a fix too.

Hi, this MIGHT be caused by a Firewall issue…

If your TARGET machine does NOT have access to the JSS Server, due to a Firewall block
– Then you might get an error message like this.

You need: https: through to your JSS server-IP on Port 8443 from the Target CPU
-- Is that being blocked ? - for that specific Target machine / Target machine subnet ?

Well in my case, i should remember that i had not upgraded the production environment to 8.62 yet, and i should not have used the 8.62 recon to try and connect to the 8.52 server... PEBCAK all the way.
