Hi All, this is my first post after Jumpstart. Question- I have an internal
security requirement that requires the System Preference->Security
preference->General Tab 'Require password to unlock each System Preferences
pane' to be checked on. I have looked everywhere I can think of, A) tried
to find a Policy or Managed Preference pre-built by JAMF (resource kit as
well) or Manifest Destiny and B) I have made the change on a MacOS X 10.5
and 10.6 computer and attempted to find the correct .plist so that I could
possibly make a policy from the .plist and finally C) Googled it the best I
could and did not find any truly relevant hit. Has anyone done this and can
share there solution and/or have any ideas how to go about this?

Thank you for you time

Hi Michael,

Welcome to the Casper Family :)

The setting is stored in ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist

I used Create new package> "Monitor System File Changes" and locked the
setting, then built the package
I tested, it worked.

FYI: you CAN see the file inside of Composer, but it is hidden everywhere
else, including in the .dmg

Have a look at /etc/authorize
system.preferences key
The 'shared' value turns the pref on and off.
