This is a random question; would there be any reason or benefit to have Self Service available in Self Service on an iPad?

Not that I can think of. I did see an alias to a Mac HD once inside the Mac HD!

Yes, if you have been using the Self Service web clip and are not pushing out the Self Service app to everyone, but want to provide that option. The Self Service app needs to go out managed with settings under App Configuration customized to your server so you'd need to create an app object in Self Service to do that.

Also to have a mechanism for Self Service Mobile to be updated in an environment where Apple's App Store is disabled.
