Dear Jamf Users,

I'm trying for a couple of day's to create a package for a Self Serice. Everytime when i want to install, I get the error message:

/usr/sbin/jamf is version 8.64
Executing Policy Install Adobe Flash Player 11.7...
[STEP 1 of 1]
Caching package...
Downloading BOM for Flash Player 11.7.700.169.pkg...
This Apple Package did not have a valid index.bom file. Assuming it is a flat file package.

I dont know what's going on, I created also by composter but no results.

Hi Roderick,
I signed up with Adobe for the enterprise distribution, which provides a link to a download page. On that page, the Flash Player installer actually has a working .pkg within its contents (Right Click>Show Contents). The consumer installer download does not contain this package.
I have had no issues with pulling out that .pkg and dropping it into Casper Admin. I deploy it both w/ policy and also using Self Service as an option.
The link to sign up w/Adobe is here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/players/flash-player-distribution.html
I got signed up in a day or 2, and use the same process to acquire Adobe Reader updates.

Hello Sandy and jhbush1973,

Oke, perhaps adobe is an issue but the fact is that non of my pkg's are working. Example i downloaded Google Chrome and Also Fire fox (for distribution) or 3rt party tools Also this is not working. We are using 80 imac's on a school an 400 mac's wireless and it should be great is people can install this by them selfs.

Iam a NOOB in this product so i hope i can get some support.

My situation:

Windows 2008 R2 Server
Clients OSX ML 10.8.2 or 10.8.3
share smb protocol
I did also under the policy bypass over http from smb or afp wont work.
The most packages i created by using the composer if i use thins product to create an pkg and use it for deploystudio or ARD it works fine.

What iam also is missing is that i must make for each package a new policy strange ;-(

Hope to hear maybe there is a good manual outsite the product manual a step by step one?

regards,

Roderik
