As we know, we can link directly to Self Service with selfservice:// URLs, however, in the Gmail browser interface these are stripped (presumably for security).
Has anyone come up with a workaround for this?

+24There is no way I know of to link to a category in Self Service. I've looked and tried. The categories are loaded with some kind of javascript or something, not via a direct link.
You can link to a specific policy in SS via its policy ID, but the primary issue is that it starts running the policy immediately. Even if you have the policy configured to pop up a description before hand, it bypasses it and goes straight into running the policy. This is true whether Self Service was already running, or if it wasn't and needed to launch.
It would be awesome if JAMF implemented a way to link to a policy and just go to the description window. It would be great to send someone a link via email they can click to go to the policy, but not actually run it right away.
