Hello!

I am looking to disable the first "transfer your data" prompt before the enrollment screen on macOS. (Seqouia)

When I wiped my device from JAMF PRO management portal after upgrading to Seqouia, I noticed BEFORE the enrollment screen, a "Migration Assistant" - "Transfer your data" prompt.

How can I disable this prompt before enrollment?

I have PreStage options disabled to NOT show transfer wizard (pictured) - confirmed the device is getting the proper prestage profile. And when enrollment pops up, and I finally enroll, I can confirm the migration assistant\\Transfer your data does not prompt.

With current design, you can not skip that part as it kicks in before MDM Check. Many already asking Apple to make it after MDM (tahoe is also same so far).

@EncoreG If you have a support contract with Apple you might open a case complaining about this prompt appearing before there's any chance to suppress it, especially since if the user does select one of the transfer options and you have disabled the Transfer Information panel the user will receive an "Unable to Transfer Data..." message at the point it would be displayed in Setup Assistant. That makes for a bad user experience IMO, and that's something Apple used to care about.

There are already hundreds of people already gave feedback for that. And I loved your comment "That makes for a bad user experience IMO, and that's something Apple used to care about".. best comment for current Apple. Additionally, whatever user chooses on that menu, if device is registered ABM/ASM it goes directly to Remote Management - with an error pop up obviously.

@A_Collins IMO the current Apple decision process for macOS changes sometimes seems to be either ignorant or apathetic towards the needs of organizations managing Macs. Don't get me wrong, Apple's Enterprise support organization is fantastic, but I get the distinct feeling that they're reacting to these changes just like their customers are rather than having a proactive position in the macOS engineering process.

Thank you everyone! Sad times. =(
