Hi,

I am working on creating a smart group with combination of MAC Address and Serial Number but it does not work. When I add MAC Address and Serial Numbers individually, the machine shows up but if I use combination like below(Image) it does not list up the machines.
Has anyone faced this or its only to me?

Regards,
Karthikeyan

That is why I asked. I think you are running into a defect.

Try "and" instead of "or"

Works for me

Hi Criss,

I tried 'and' but still does not work. "And" works if MAC Address and Serial Numbers are of the same computers but I am scoping for different machines serial numbers and MAC Address.

Thanks,
Karthikeyan

Is there a reason that this needs to be a Smart Group rather than a Static Group? I'll admit to not having tried the union.

I'm curious what this smart group could be used for. I can't imagine any purpose for a group that only applies to one device...

Hi Robert,

We have to push out a application to few machines. They have provided us few serial numbers and few MAC Address to push out:-( .so need to create smart group with the details provided.

I'll make an assumption that the serial numbers and MAC addresses do not

match. Meaning, for example, you have a list of 5 serial numbers and 5 MAC
addresses for a total of 10 machines.

If that is the case, the easiest thing would be to create two Smart Groups
and be done with it. Quicker than trying to figure this out. Then scope
the policy to both groups.

Would static group not be quick then its only a handful? Or just scope to individual macs?
