We're having trouble mounting the SMB Share for Casper when loading any of the Capser Suite Apps, the IP is reachable, the machine name resolves and the file share/access permissions are correct too but Casper Admin says otherwise please advise.

Ive also enabled HTTP sharing and this has still not taken over it continues to use SMB ??

Hi, could you provide us with a little more detail? Such as:

  • The version of Casper you are using
  • The OS version of the client running Casper Admin
  • Maybe a screenshot of System Report -> Volumes?
  • Log files of Casper Admin attempting to mount the share

In the meantime you may want to try out:

  • Mounting the SMB Share with the same creds that Casper Admin is using
  • Try running Casper Admin on a different mac to verify its not a client issue

Let us know what you find out.

While I look to get that info I just wanted to add to that the store is on the same machine as the JSS and its using the JSS IP when trying to mount is this an issue ?

Should it be a separate machine all together or would it be better setting the JSS Distro Store to be localhost perhaps ?

That setup should work just fine.
