I have one in place, and have a self service policy set to ongoing that will set the server and install all updates, and I have the server set in my JSS and have it set as default update server on all of my network segments.
Yet when I run software update self service policy it doesn't work.
We are considering using Software Update Server with Casper but have a
couple of questions for anyone already doing this:
If we create a Smart Group for an update and a Casper policy to push out
the update but the user sleeps or shuts down the computer, will the policy
continue where the download/install left off, or will it start over again
since the computer hasn't left the Smart Group?
Is there any difference between using Casper to push out updates and
having machines locally install updates from a Software Update Server, in
terms of data compression/speed?
