Hi folks,

we have some MacBooks that can be lended by our students. So we want the Books to be imaged with autorun by a Casper-Admin configuration. Before we start, I want to ask the community, what is the best way for you? My idea is this:

LendingBooks-Config:
-OSX-basic-install
-Application-packages
-Some scripts (like setting timeserver,…)
-Start SetupAssistant after reboot (so the Student can setup his own account for the lending-period)

Thanks for sharing,
Holger

This would depend on wether the laptops are being used within your environment or outside. Do you have wireless/AD/OS X 10.7 environment where you could use a configuration profile to setup up the wireless on the login window and have them authenticate to AD creating a Mobile account..

Thanks!
All MacBooks need to have 10.6.8. Because we have also guests from outside, a Mobile Account isn't a solution. The Macs should be used in- and outside of our campus.
