Does anyone receive these emails, [high] Alert for Sophos Central, when their computer is updated from one operating system to another, or at other random times? I was informed by Sophos that I would need to manage using static groups instead of smart groups, but that seems inefficient and not ideal.
We used to get them more often, but recently we haven’t. Are you using the Configuration Profile provided by Sophos?
I can see how it would happen after a major upgrade if one profile is unscoped and a different one is scoped, but there’s not much that can be done there. I would personally keep using the smart groups since those alerts usually resolve on their own, especially after a reboot.
Yes, we are using the Configuration Profiles provided by Sophos. re:reboot, that’s been working, just that our cybersecurity team freaks out with all the notifications. And yeah, definitely not moving to Static Groups.
I could see that being a major issue with alerts being created.
Luckily we have a small fleet that uses Sophos and is therefore manageable, otherwise I’d very strongly push to get off Sophos and use Jamf Protect or really anything else.
Alerts will trigger when some Sophos services is not running or Sophos not updated for certain days, also when you updated to lateset macOS version check and install configuration profile which given by Sophos based on the macOS version.
