sshd: Service exited with abnormal code: 255

After upgrading our MacMini to OS X 10.10.2 and JSS 9.65, I've been getting this error every couple of days -

3/18/15 11:30:22.982 AM com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.openssh.sshd.00CBF727-F8C5-4B48-BE40-23DC07D66CE3[72382]) Service exited with abnormal code: 255

I've googled the error and it seems to reported with various flavors of *unix, but haven't located a "fix". Anyone else see this problem on their OS X server or know of a possible fix?

    I forgot to mention that restarting Tomcat usually fixes the issue.

    I upgraded to 10.10.3 JSS 9.65 and I am now getting this same error, but mine is constant. Know of a fix yet?? I've restarted Tomcat and it did nothing. I'm having trouble getting mysql to start back up too.

    Did either of you ever get to the bottom of this? I'm currently getting the same thing on 10.11.6 JSS 9.92.

    I had a similar issue and I found out that the /var/empty folder had the wrong owner. I ran " sudo chown root /var/empty " and it resolved the issue.
    This will also fix the issue ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer.
