Update Ipads with a Passcde

I am just wondering if its possible to Update Ipads that have Passcodes, when the Ipads have passcodes, the passcode needs to be entered to continue the installion of updates. I am wondering if there is a way to bypass this

    If the device is locked then the command will fail or stay in a pending state until the passcode is entered and unlocks the device. For forced, non user initiated updates it's best to clear the passcode followed by the update command.
