Im trying to update our Universal Type Client from ver 3.0.1 to 3.1.0 but unable to locate where I can kill off the existing UTS client. Get an error when I try to run update.

Try running the upgrade at login or logout when the FM Core is not running. You might also try running the Uninstall package and then the install.
or killall -9 FMCore seems to work as well.
The official UTC-removal-tool deletes pretty much everything, including fonts cached locally at /Library/Extensis/UTC (it might take quite a long time to re-download them) and preferences while re-installing/updating the client should leave them alone.

Carlo, I did remove the Extensis folder in the Library and the older version of the Application itself. I will next try sending command to kill the FM Core, didnt think of that one
