Have a scenario where I am moving a hard drive to a replacement laptop for a student and I want all of the new replacement hardware info to populate in the JSS with the currently managed client (hard drive I am moving in to the replacement laptop).

Tip on how to do so?

Casper Suite 8.x and earlier versions used the Mac's MAC address to identify a system, which is/was editable in the JSS., so technically you might be able to achieve this by copying the MAC address from the old hardware into the new hardware's record, fooling the JSS into thinking the new hardware is in fact the older machine. I'm not sure how permanent something like that is though. For example, I don't know if the above would stick through a re-imaging.

And for version 9 I have no idea if that would work since they're now using the UDID as the unique identifier for the hardware.

No luck, I added the Mac addresses, and it would not update. I tried several restarts after that. Wound up just wiping the binaries and then re-enrolling.
